Welcome to SCDC

Hong Kong is probably not the first place you would think of when you consider diving in Asia, but if you are living here for any length of time you may be surprised at what it has to offer.

The South China Diving Club (SCDC) was founded on 23rd May 1979 and is part of BSAC - the British Sub Aqua Club. We are a non-profit club and welcome new members, whether you are already qualified as a BSAC diver or not. We believe in a strong, active membership with a commitment to high diving standards and continuous improvement. Consequently we take safety very seriously, and we encourage our members to extend themselves either by expanding their diving experience, or through the many skill development courses we offer.

We have dives in Hong Kong most weekends of the year from large comfortable junks and also organise dive trips that are family-friendly, including the chance to spend some time on a beach. We also organise a variety of social events to suit most tastes.

Every Thursday night we meet in the 2nd Floor bar of the Aberdeen Boat Club for a drink and a chat. (See map). For people new to diving we run a qualification course every year, as well as conversion courses for people qualified with other recognised diving organizations. In addition, for members who are keen to improve their SCUBA diving skills, we run a number of skill development courses throughout the year.

We are a non-profit organisation and offer the best value SCUBA diving in Hong Kong. You can benefit from the friendly club atmosphere and will also have access to club equipment such as regs, BCs and tanks.

So, if you are interested in finding out more about us, feel free to contact us. For more details our contact address is GPO Box 11987, Hong Kong, or e-mail:
