GENERAL TRAINING
In 2008 the club drew up a 5 year training plan.
It is self explanatory: it helps us to run as many course as we can. The
need of having more variable diving courses, “skill development
courses” and instructors courses helped to reach this decision.
The
“plan” includes yearly basic diving courses “Sport Diver” course “Dive
Leader” course and in alternate years Instructor and Advanced instructor
courses. Moreover in the next 5 years we will start to run “skill
development courses” to cover as many as we can.

+ Ocean and Sports Diver course
Due to the difficulty booking swimming pools, South China diving Club does not run Ocean dive
courses. Instead we will work together with a local dive shop and
send all the trainees to train with them. The advantage is that the
course can be tailor-made and more flexible than it should be with us.
After
completion of an entry level course, trainees will come back to SCDC and
take it from there for all the other levels.
Nitrox
The Nitrox Course itself has been included in the Ocean Diver course
since the year 2007. However, feeling that divers should have a deeper
understanding of Nitrox mixes and diving with Nitrox, we offer yearly a
Combined Nitrox Workshop.
Nitrox is getting cheaper and more
affordable on holidays. It increases the diver safe margin, but is a
must to know the risks implied.
Diving with us you will be absolutely
aware of this to make you diving more enjoyable.
Skill Development Courses (SDCs)
A full list of BSAC SDC can be found here. We’ll try to run as many as
we can in the next 5 years.
So have a look and tell us what you
are interested in doing. We have done a lot of Nitrox courses recently
so how about Advanced Diving Techniques or Search and Recovery, or First
Aid for Divers etc etc etc………..???

Instructor Foundation Course and Open Water Instructor
Course
If you are an Instructor wanting to crossover to BSAC have a look at
this or a Dive Leader wanting to become an Instructor read here, then
you will be interested to hear that we will organize a National
Instructor visit every year for the next 5 years.
