New Committee

Out with the old, and in with the new. Committees that is. We had an exciting AGM last Thursday which included the first contested election that I've seen in my time at the club.

After a very tight election Our New Glorious Leaderess is Gabi. In the 2007 Club survey, there were some comments on how important it is for the committee to be accessible and visible to the club. I don't think we can fault Gabi there, as she is at ABC almost every week and on almost every dive boat. So congratulations and good luck to her, and we should give her and the rest of the committee our full support.

• Secretary: Jacqui Roberts
• Training Officer: Catheryn Chu
• Member's Member: Sheli Bowman
• Social Secretary: We don't seem to have one of these. So if you think you can organise a piss-up in a brewery, you could be the right person for the job.

In addition, Joerg Steffen has been appointed Equipment Officer.

So, with Vicki stepping down, it's the end of the Victorian era and the new regime has a more teutonic complexion, which should have the club running like a well-oiled machine. And as an added bonus on the Thursday night club nights we'll get to ABC to find that the SCDC towels have already been placed on all the best chairs!

Anyway congratulations to all our new committee members, and thanks very much for the outgoing committee for all their hard work.
