A haven for thousands of migratory birds during autumn and winter, and bustling with vibrant insect life and plump gei wai shrimp in the spring and summer, the wetlands around the Mai Po marshes and Inner Deep Bay offer visitors a chance to experience Hong Kong’s biodiversity first-hand.
SCDC is organising a morning visit to the marshes which will include a walk around the inside ponds and a visit to the hides outside the HK border.
The visit will last about 4 hours.
Please read very carefully the "VISITOR GUIDELINES", especially the "Preparation" and "Code of entry", before enrolling.
After the visit the plan is to have lunch in Kam Tim and return to Central by 5pm or earlier.

DEPARTURE: TBD (possibly 8:00 hrs, Central, by shuttle bus according to the number of participants)
MAI PO VISIT: 9:00-13:00 hrs (binoculars will be provided at no charge)
LUNCH: 14:00 hrs, TBD (likely Kam Tin)
RETURN: by 17:00 hrs (or earlier) in Central
COST: HKD220 for Mai Po Permit/Visit (lunch and transport excluded)
