Hi Everyone,
Last Sunday some SCDC divers were very lucky to experience one of the best dive days you can have in Hong Kong with exceptional conditions, Blue Water, well around 15 metres viz and 27 degree warm water, although with a deep thermocline. The trip went out to Victor Rock and One Foot Rock. The location itself is really exposed and conditions therefore are also challenging due to pretty strong currents around the rocks. We saw big lobsters, sting rays, big butterfly fish, emperor angel fish, jacks, small barracuda and the usual suspects as well as a beautiful coral reef boasting yellow, orange and pink colors. Navigation was sometimes critical due to the partly strong currents but everyone eventually made it back to the boat, some of the divers with the help of our master snorkeler Andy N jumping to aid into the wild waves to collect those that had drifted off a tiny little bit... :-) Don't forget to check our website's gallery and facebook page as well for pictures.The Club Social Dinner at Ning Po Restaurant last Saturday was also a great success with over 20 members enjoying each other's company and a great variety of Shanghainese specialties. Big thanks to the ladies who organized the dinner and arranged for a tasty mix of dishes for everyone.Here are our up-dates for this week: Dive Camp on Nov 12th and 13th Latest Dive Schedule - New Club Dive ex Sai Kung on Saturday Sep 24th Dive Camp on November 12th and 13thThis year's SCDC Dive Camp is planned for the 12th November weekend. We'll head out with the boat on Saturday morning, do some dives, then head to a beach, set up our tents with expectedly substantial amounts of food and booze to be absorbed, stay overnight and next morning head back to the boat with possibly some more dives if we don't suffer from a hangover... ;-) Please contact Mike Belshaw mikebelshaw@hotmail.com , if you want to be part of this event. It is Club policy that all divers must carry a DSMB on Club dives.
Anyone whose name is on the list at 10:30pm on Thursday evening prior to the dive will be charged the boat fee and for any tanks/equipment they have ordered.
All divers must also have their proof of qualification and dive log with them for possible inspection by the DM in order to be able to dive.
It is Club policy that we must have fun!
